The obverse depicts three crowns alternating with three fleur de lis, surrounding a rose at the centre. The reverse legend reads: GOTT ALLEIN DIE EERE SEI, which can be translated to mean (To God alone be the glory). The reverse depicts an imperial orb within tressure.

Two copper alloy jettons, both worn with indecipherable legends, but probably rose-orb type. One has a diameter of 20.04mm and has two holes punched through near the centre and 3.5mm apart. The other is 19.45mm and has two triangular-shaped perforations about 4mm apart and set off-centre. Both could have been re-used as buttons. They are of late sixteenth to seventeenth century date.

15th - 16th Century. Copper alloy, rather crude, French 'Tournai' type jetton. Length 26.4mm, Width 24.5mm, Thickness 2mm, Diameter 26.4mm, Weight 4.6g. Obverse: Possible three fleur-de-lys within a shield - French Coat of Arms. Inscription: Illegible. Reverse: A cross of three strands - Fleuronee within a quatrefoil in the centre enclosed by a tressure of four arches. Inscription: Illegible. Very worn and corroded condition also appears rather crude in design - could be a German copy of a French type jetton. Ref. Detector Finds 2, Gordon Bailey, Greenlight Publishing 1993, page 96-98…
