A round coin weight from circa 1632-1649, for a 10 shilling angel, made of brass. Round coin weights were introduced by Charles I as the new official coin weight, after he banned square weights. These types of coin weight were produced in large quantities. The obverse depicts a crown, under the crown are the letters X and S on two lines. The X is flanked by a dot on either side, the S in flanked by one dot to the left. A Post Medieval cast lead alloy circular unifaced token, dating to between AD 1550-1800. On one side are the raised initials C and U separated by a pellet and the other side has the intials I and U separated by a pellet. The token measures 18.4mm in diameter, 1.9mm thick and weighs 4.83 grams. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally; they are therefore difficult to date precisely but those with initials are thought to be Post Medieval in date.

The token measures 23.7mm in diameter, and weighs 5.98 grams. Post Medieval cast lead circular double-sided token. The token is 21.6mm in diameter, 3.6mm thick and weighs 10.04g. The token is decorated with raised capital letters, EW with a large dot between, on one side. The other side has a raised date, 1768. Lead tokens can be produced easily and were often made at home for a range of tasks. They are therefore difficult to date precisely and dated examples are rare. The date of this re-inforces the impression that examples with initials are mostly Post Medieval in date.

A very worn and clipped Post Medieval silver coin of unknown monarch. The coin has been clipped down to the inner circle and therefore the legend has been removed with it. The obverse is largely blank but the reverse shows a quartered shield with the rampant lion of Scotland in the upper right quadrant. This was adopted by James I and would date the coin to the reign of James I (1603-1625 AD) or Charles I (1625-1649).

Incomplete Post Medieval cast lead alloy circular uni-faced token, 1500-1850 AD. The token has a raised design of a roman capital W or M on one side. The reverse is blank. It has a small break and the soft lead alloy has been folded inwards here. The token measures 20.0mm in diameter, 1.7mm thick, and weighs 3.61 grams. Lead tokens were locally made and had a wide variety of uses; they are therefore hard to date precisely but those with initals are thought to be Post Medieval in date.

Copper alloy Nuremberg jetton of Hans Krauwinckel II (master 1586 d. 1635). The obverse of the jetton shows three crowns with three lis between, and a rose in the centre. The obverse inscription is: HANNS KRAVWINCKEL IN NVR. The reverse shows an orb in a three-arched tressure with angles at each joint. The reverse inscription is probably GOTES REICH BLIBT EWICK, meaning 'God's kingdom (realm) remains eternal'. This matches Mitchner 1540.

The crowned V stands for 5 shillings and sugests it is for a quarter laurel or crown (minted 1619-1657). It measures 14mm in diameter is 1.7mm thick and weighs 1.7grams, 26.23 grains. A full weight quarter laurel was 35 grains but weights were made for the legal minimum weight of the coin which was slightly less and this weight has probably become lighter due to corrosion.

Cast lead alloy circular uniface weight or token. The item has the capital letters I G or (1 G) stamped into one side, the other is blank. It is unusual to see stamped decoration which has to be done individually on a token as most tokens were cast into a decorated mould so any design is raised and the moulds could be reused. Stamping is much more common on weights and it maybe this was a home made weight for a particular purpose. It weighs considerably more than a gram or grain and may be for a specialist use.
