A Post Medieval cast lead alloy circular unifaced token, dating to between AD 1550-1800. On one side are the raised initials C and U separated by a pellet and the other side has the intials I and U separated by a pellet. The token measures 18.4mm in diameter, 1.9mm thick and weighs 4.83 grams. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally; they are therefore difficult to date precisely but those with initials are thought to be Post Medieval in date.

Post Medieval cast lead-alloy circular double-faced hop token (1700-1850 AD). On one side are the raised initials SD (or possibly JS). The other side has XII. The token measures 18.5mm in diameter, 2.0mm thick and weighs 4.39 grams. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally; those with 6, 12 and 24 on were used in Sussex and Kent to keep track of the amount of hops pickers had collected and often traded locally as a currency which could be redeemed with the farmer at the end of the season.

Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally; they are therefore hard to date precisely but those with numerial values in multipes of 6 (6, 12 and 24) are known to have been used on hop farms to keep track of quantities picked and were cashed for payment at the end of the job.

The token has a raised design of the letters ME within a border of raised pellets on one side (it maybe the letters were supposed to be EW but were accidentaly written the wrong way round for casting); the other side has a design of a six petalled flower with triangles between each petal within a circular border. It is 27.1mm in diameter, 3.6mm thick and weighs 12.78 grams. Cast lead alloy circular uniface weight or token. The item has the capital letters I G or (1 G) stamped into one side, the other is blank. It is unusual to see stamped decoration which has to be done individually on a token as most tokens were cast into a decorated mould so any design is raised and the moulds could be reused. Stamping is much more common on weights and it maybe this was a home made weight for a particular purpose. It weighs considerably more than a gram or grain and may be for a specialist use. There is a hole near one edge and dent in one edge; both are probably casting flaws. It is 21.1mm in diameter and 1.3mm thick, it weighs 3.36 grams. Cast lead tokens had a wide range of uses and were often produced locally. They are thus hard to date accurately but those with intials are generally Post Medieval (1500-1800 AD).

On the other is a lion rampart, crowned and within a belt inscribed with the motto of the Order of the Garter HONI SOIT [QUI] MAL Y PENSE (the QUI is hidden by the crown). The token has a cross pattee with widely expanded arms and radiating lines between the arms on one face. On the other is a S superimposed on the leg of a T; there are also smaller marks to one side, possibly the remains of other letters. Lead tokens are very easy to make and continued in use for a long period, but those using initials are thought to be post medieval in date c.1550-1800 AD.
