An extremely worn Post-Medieval coin of an uncertain English monarch. The obverse and obverse legend are illegible. The reverse shows an unclear long-cross fourchee over a Tudor royal shield (lower left quadrant is the clearest part of the shield showing three lions passant guardant). The reverse legend is almost completely illegible. The flan size suggests that this is probably a halfgroat. The coin has a date range from Henry VII, AD 1485-1509, profile issue through to Elizabeth I, AD 1558-1603. This flan has been slightly bent.

Silver coin. A small denomination silver coin, very worn, of a value over threepence and equal to or less than sixpence in the early post-medieval period. The flan is bent, though not so neatly as is usually the case with a coin modified as a keepsake. A plain cross and a small more complex but indeterminate mark are stamped onto one side of the flan. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1550-1700 Diameter: 19.0mm, Weight: 1.60gms
