A complete post-medieval copper-alloy laurel (20s) coin weight with the official counterstamp/verification mark of James I (1603-1625). The coin weight is square in plan. Length: 18.8mm; width: 19.2mm; thickness: 3.3mm. Mass: 7.8g. On the obverse is a raised laureate bust within a circle of pellets. On the reverse there is a raised crown surmounting the value - XXs (i.e. 20 shillings). In the top left corner of the reverse there is the official counterstamp/verification mark of James I.
