Copper alloy possible token. Hammered flan with beaded inner circle on both sides. The lettering appears of simple Roman capital style, though layout appears more like that of a medieval coin. Obverse description: Head of sheep left. Obverse inscription: [--]D?G[--]I I V[--] Reverse description: Three comma shaped objects, perhaps part of a series of six. Reverse inscription: [--]LOVO[--]VA[--] Suggested date: possibly Post-Medieval, 1640-1670 Diameter: 15.2mm, Weight: 0.91gms

A Post-Medieval cast lead token. It is flat and circular in form with six irregularly radiating lines on the front and reverse faces. There are irregularly shaped pellets in between the line on the front face. The token probably dates to between the 16th and 17th centuries AD. It is 11.9mm in diametre, 1mm thick and weighs 1.58 grams.

Probable Post Medieval cast lead uniface token. The token carries a stylised design of a spread-eagled bird looking right. The reverse is plain. Lead tokens had a wide variety of potential uses such as use as tallies, gaming pieces, tickets, weights, etc. and are believed to have been locally produced; they are therefore difficult to date precisely. The lines of the cross are irregular resulting in four uneven quarters. The other surface has no visible markings. It is very worn and is corroded. The object has a mid-grey patina.

Cast lead token dating to the Post-Medieval period, (1500-1700). The object is circular in plan and 17.82mm in diameter. The upper surface is decorated with a moulded animal, possibly a dog or a lion, advancing right. The animal has a long curved tail and one foot appears to be raised to just below the mouth. The reverse of the object is flat and undecorated. The object could have been used for a wide range of functions including as a gaming piece.

An old break has removed about 10% from one side. The token measures 20.9mm in diameter, 2.8mm thick and weighs 7.45 grams. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally; they are therefore hard to date precisely but those with initials are thought to be Post Medieval in date (1500-1850 AD).

The token measures 23.7mm in diameter, and weighs 5.98 grams. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally; they are therefore hard to date precisely but those with initials are thought to be Post Medieval in date (1500-1850 AD).
