Reverse inscription: [--]LOVO[--]VA[--] Suggested date: possibly Post-Medieval, 1640-1670 Diameter: 15.2mm, Weight: 0.91gms

A Post-Medieval cast lead token. It is flat and circular in form with six irregularly radiating lines on the front and reverse faces. There are irregularly shaped pellets in between the line on the front face. The token probably dates to between the 16th and 17th centuries AD. It is 11.9mm in diametre, 1mm thick and weighs 1.58 grams.

Probable Post Medieval cast lead uniface token. The token carries a stylised design of a spread-eagled bird looking right. The reverse is plain. Lead tokens had a wide variety of potential uses such as use as tallies, gaming pieces, tickets, weights, etc. and are believed to have been locally produced; they are therefore difficult to date precisely. Those carrying intials are generally deemed to be Post Medieval in date (1500-1850 AD), those which seem to mimic Medieval penny designs are deemed to be Medieval, the remainder which carry stylised designs remain difficult to date but the…
