Lead alloy uniface coin weight, square in plan and flat in section. The weight is decorated with a cross with an object in each angle, possibly annulets, all within a beaded border. It is 13.9 mm by 13.66 mm, 1.7mm thick and weighs 1.380 dwt or 2.14g. It was probably used to weigh a full or half Portugese escudo.See Withers, 1995, Lions, ships and angels, page 44.
