Copper alloy coin. A small and possibly unofficial milled coin, with a surface which appears bubbled by heating almost to its melting point. The obverse may suggest an imitation of a small denomination of George II (1727-1760), but this might equally be a foreign coin. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1720-1780. Obverse description: Bust left. A milled outer circle appears all round the edge of the coin. Reverse description: Milled edge to coin, all other detail lost to bubbled damage. Worn flan of a probably hammered post-medieval coin; the mass would allow a threepence, with letters and devices stamped on one side: STEI [double-struck] and M.B, along with a floret with up to 16 narrow petals. No discernible trace of original obverse and reverse remains discernible, and the flan is creased and folded with the added lettering sited on areas standing proud on that side.
