A lead alloy token of Elizabeth I (1558-1603), struck c. 1574 (North 1991: 140, ref: 2063).
North comments:
‘There exist a number of lead or pewter pieces which have in the past been described as patterns or tokens. It is more probable however that they were political medalets or counters, as some would appear to relate to Mary, Queen of Scots, and the workmanship on most is rather crude. They are normally found in London, and were struck about 1574 (North 1991: 140).

A complete and corroded circular uniface coin weight for a seventeenth century half angel, AD 1604-19 (Withers and Withers 1995, 21 and 68). The weight for a half angel during this period was 35.5 grains. This Isle of Wight find weighs 28.6 grains (1.86g). The difference in weight can probably be accounted for by the loss of metal due to corrosion.
