A very worn and clipped Post Medieval silver coin of unknown monarch. The coin has been clipped down to the inner circle and therefore the legend has been removed with it. The obverse is largely blank but the reverse shows a quartered shield with the rampant lion of Scotland in the upper right quadrant. This was adopted by James I and would date the coin to the reign of James I (1603-1625 AD) or Charles I (1625-1649).

An incomplete and extremely abraded Post Medieval Tudor period silver coin. No detail can be seen on the obverse but the image of the Royal shield and the part legend PO[...]/DEV[...] can just be made out on the reverse. This legend is probably a variant of POSUI DEUM ADIUTOREM MEUM which translates as "I have made God my helper". The legend was in use on various coin denominations throughout the Tudor period but judging by the size and weight of this coin it is most likely a groat or sixpence of Elizabeth I (1558-1603 AD). Copper alloy counterstamped coin. The coin is highly corroded and no part of the original design is visible. It is counterstamped VIII with a small H or M above and the second and third II appear to be interupted by a circular counterstamp. It is probably a 8 maravedis of Felipe III (1598-1621) of Spain, but countermarked later under Felipe IV's reign (1621-1665) as an 8 maravedis 'resellado' which means 'resealed' or 'restruck'. Post Medieval cast lead alloy circular unifaced token (1500-1850 AD). On one side are the raised initials, I P written retrograde seperated by a pellet, and the other side is blank. An old break has removed about 10% from one side. The token measures 20.9mm in diameter, 2.8mm thick and weighs 7.45 grams. Post Medieval cast lead-alloy circular double-faced hop token (1700-1850 AD). On one side are the raised initials SD (or possibly JS). The other side has XII. The token measures 18.5mm in diameter, 2.0mm thick and weighs 4.39 grams. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally; those with 6, 12 and 24 on were used in Sussex and Kent to keep track of the amount of hops pickers had collected and often traded locally as a currency which could be redeemed with the farmer at the end of the season.
