Silver coin. The flan of a hammered coin worn entirely smooth on both sides. Paired parallel lines might hint at this having been folded as a keepsake and subsequently flattened, the former being an oft-reported adaptation of the sixpence of William III (1693-1702). However, the flan is a little small for this identification to be sustained. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1500-1700 Diameter: 18.6mm, Weight: 1.40gms

An incomplete, distorted, pierced and worn coin of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1489 - 1660. The coin is extremely worn rendering most diagnostic detail illegible. Traces of a border with text can be determined suggestive of a Post-Medieval date. The coin is 18.6mm in diameter and weighs 1g which is approximately consistent with the dimensions for the threepence issued under Elizabeth I. Some pierced/modified coins can come within the remits of Treasure Act 1996, including all finds of pierced silver or gold coins up to AD 1180 and some thereafter depending upon the nature of the piercin…

Silver coin. A possibly milled and very worn coin, with marks suggesting it has formerly been folded as a keepsake. The mass - with due allowance for heavy wear - does not make it seem likely this was a sixpence, the most commonly folded coin, but perhaps a smaller denomination. Other than signs of creasing, no detail remains on either side of the coin. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1690-1700 Diameter: 20.3mm, Weight: 1.52gms

Copper alloy coin. A small and possibly unofficial milled coin, with a surface which appears bubbled by heating almost to its melting point. The obverse may suggest an imitation of a small denomination of George II (1727-1760), but this might equally be a foreign coin. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1720-1780. Obverse description: Bust left. A milled outer circle appears all round the edge of the coin. Reverse description: Milled edge to coin, all other detail lost to bubbled damage. Diameter: 24.5mm, Weight: 3.49gms

The coin has been pierced, drilled from the obverse, behind the bust, with a mark left by initial drilling to the left of this.
