A worn golden guinea of James II, AD 1685-1688, dating to AD 1685. The flan has a milled edge. Obverse shows a laureate head left. Obverse legend reads IACOBVS. II. DEI. GRATIA. Reverse shows a cruciform, which consists of four crowned shields with sceptres in the angles. Reverse legend reads 16-85. MAG-ER. FRA- ET. HIB- REX. Die axis is 6 o'clock. Weight: 8.16g, Diameter: 25.23mm, Thickness: 1.03mm.
