Though originally suggested to be a gold plated contemporary copy of a gold stater of the North Eastern region / Corieltavi with a copper core (Esuprasu type dating from about AD 40 - 47), it is also suggested that this might be a coin with an unusual level of copper mixed with gold (as those with copper cores tend to weigh less). The coin is 20.1mm in diameter, 3.0mm thick and weighs 5.47g.
