An incomplete Roman cast copper alloy openwork brooch, c.AD 100-200. This brooch features a central plate formed from four symmetrical discs with off-centre open apetures, which give these discs a crescent-like appearance. These disces are arranged around a central, circular disc with a large circular apeture, with triangular pieces of plate between the four outer discs. There are the remains of blue enamel in the triangular gaps and this strongly suggests the crescents were decorated with enamel too.
