An incomplete copper-alloy quatrefoil harness pendant, with a device on both sides. The bottom lobe is missing, along with the suspension loop. The artefact is in poor condition, but on one side much of the enamel survives and the heraldic design is fairly clear. A central shield is surrounded by blue lobes, with a bare border around the edge of the pendant. The shield has three red roundels in the upper portion, and at least two horizontal red bars in the lower portion, all within a red border. It is likely that the rest of the shield was either gold or silver. I Szymanski has identi…

The boss consists of a domed centre surrounded by thirteen triangular projections (one is missing so there would have been fourteen) surmounted by a fleur de lis. One at the top in the centre is pierced with a 4.72mm diameter hole. The projection directly opposite this is the fourteenth missing projection, and presumably this would have a piercing too. The mount depicts a lion and unicorn standing either side of…

A copper-alloy lozenge shaped (shield shaped) harness mount of medieval date. The mount has a rivet hole at the bottom and two at the top, one on each side. A cast copper alloy medieval horse harness pendant, complete. The pendant is rectangular with a central circular motif within which is a cross of Toulouse in black (sable) on a background of red enamel. In English heraldic terms the design can be desribed as gules a cross clechy pommety and voided sable. The cross of Toulouse is distinguished by the 12 bobbles (or pommettes) in sets of three on the end of each cross arm. Part of a copper-alloy harness suspension mount of medieval date, formed from a cut piece of metal. The mount is incomplete and has two perforations in the centre, presumably for attachment rivets. The upper one is broken. Slight rounding at the edges of the break suggests that there were two further circular perforations, one either side of the central broken one. The bottom shoulders of the mount are convex, having been pushed out from the reverse, an apparently deliberate part of the design.
