A near complete cast copper alloy and enamel Medieval harness pendant dating from 1200 to 1400 AD. The harness pendant is shield-shaped with an integrally cast loop; the front is decorated in relief blue enamel depicting a unicorn rampant.  The suspension loop is 8.5mm long with a loop hole (2.6mm in diameter) which is set 90 degrees from the shield. It appears to be a jetton associated with the historic Duchy of Gelders, probably dating from the late 14th century and issued by Mathilde de Gueldre (Duchess of Gelders, from 1371 to 1379). Incomplete Modern silver mount, AD 1917. This is a silver plate in the shape of a shield, with a small raised lip around all edges. On the inner face of the shield are three pointed rivets, folded in towards the centre. The reverse of the plate displays the hallmarks, which show this was made in Birmingham in 1917.
