An incomplete lead alloy Cloth Seal of late Medieval to Post-Medieval date (AD 1500-1650). The object is composed of two sub-circular discs which would have been connected by a short rectangular tab, now missing, with the two discs folded to meet. One face of the object has a moulded letter A, for the city of Augsburg. The second face has an unclear moulded linear motif.

The metal is grey in colour with a predominantly smooth patina.

Late Medieval to early Post Medieval lead alloy shield shaped pan weight. Equates to 60 drams or 3.7 ounces (almost 4 ounces or quarter a pound) under the ‘binary’ averdepois system. The decorated side consists of a crowned fleur-de-lis, surrounded by a recessed border approximately 5mm lower than the decorated area. The border is largely absent from the top edge of the weight. The weight is lightly abraded and the decoration is still clearly visible. Dates to between c1390 and c1588 AD.

An incomplete lead alloy Button of Post-Medieval date (AD 1575-1625). The object is cast with an integral upper decorative motif. The head is a domed and sub-ovate with a central equal armed cross, creating four recessed triangular cells, with a raised circumferential boarder. The back of the object is convex and the loop is missing.

The object is composed of a sub-circular chamber which extends upwards into the neck, the sides of which diverge outwards towards the top. There are two lugs straddling the transition between the chamber and neck. One face bears a flat topped shield motif in the central portion, the other is undecorated.

The object is heater shield shaped (square topped) with the central circular perforation in the body of the object. the front of the object bears a moulded heraldic motif composed of chief fess, with sinister and dexter lozenge and chevron with cross pommée sinister, dexter and base. The back of the object is flat and undecorated.

Lead alloy weight probably from medieval or early post-medieval period (c1400-1600AD). The weight is circular in plan with moulded decoration comprising a quartered shield with a large pellet at the centre, surrounded by a double ring comprising two parallel lines within which is a band of small pellets. The reverse is plain and undecorated. The outer edge of the reverse is bevelled so that the diameter on the reverse of the object is smaller than the front face. Fragment of a possible lead alloy bridle boss dating c. 1700-1800AD. The front face has part of a decorative scroll-work border surviving. At the centre a shield is decorated with a band running diagonally from top right to bottom left, either side of which is a single 5-pointed star. In Heraldic terms that would be described as - on bend sinister between two mullets of 5 points. It is flat and undecorated on the reverse with no obvious signs of attachment. The back of the object retains a partial integral attachment loop on the reverse, cast as one with the button. There is a retained raised casting seam to either side of the attachment loop. The object is missing a portion of the dentral disc due to an old, abraded break.

Around this a faint trace of moulded decoration, in the form of parallel lines radiating out from the centre of the suspension loop.

A complete lead alloy, two-disc, cloth seal probably dating from the late 18th to 19th century (c1750-1850AD). Stamped on one side with what is probably the City Arms of Leeds, being a shield with a biconcave top, with three stars at the top, and probably a fleece below. The reverse is blank.

A lead alloy button or cloak-fastener of post medieval date (c. AD 1550 - 1750). The button is circular in plan, with a flat back and convex front. The front has moulded decoration in the form of a cross or saltire with three pellets along each arm and one central pellet. Raised lines define a border to the cross, the area outside of these is cross-hatched. The flat reverse has an integrally cast hollow circular shank 10.7 mm diameter, slightly off centre.
