Fragment of a Post Medieval cast iron possible lock plate or escutcheon, c.AD 1700-1800. This is part of a cast plate with a floral pattern in relief on the obverse. The obverse is concave with one side of an apparent keyhole in the centre. The plate has three straight sides along its edge, suggesting the whoe plate was octagonal in plan.

A probable Post-Medieval copper alloy furniture stud. This object has a concave disc, decorated with fine radial lines. There is some residue of decorative gilt that may have coated this object in the past, although too little remains to determine if it only coated the head or the whole object. The underside of this disc-shaped head has a slender shaft that tapers to a broken point.

This object is was probably one side of the complete escutcheon, as the top, centre, and bottom of such pieces usually had one or more apetures where the plate would have been mounted to the piece of furniture.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy object possibly a chatelaine dating from the late Post-Medieval to early Modern period (c. AD 1500-1850). This object is flat with curving sides and is cusped at the top and bottom. From the top, the sides taper in to a waist, then flare to a maximum width of 20mm and then taper to the bottom. A complete cast copper alloy, post-Medieval crotal bell dating c. AD 1600-1800. The bell comprises two hemispherical domes divided horizontally by a circumferential ridge. The upper hemisphere has two circular sound holes. A square suspension loop projects from the apex of the upper dome with a sub-oval aperture. Part of a decorative mount. The obverse face is highly decorated with intricate floral filigree, some of which retains gold gilding. The end of the mount is bent over and touches the underside of the object. The reverse face features the stamped decoration from the obverse face and the remains of several pins along the centre.

Cast iron fragment. An iron plate with a rounded outer edge and concave sides, broken diagonally across its narrowest side. The material was tested with a magnet and responds strongly, so must be ferrous metal, though it displays no active corrosion whatsoever. A simple vegetal motif of a five branched sprig appears on the display face in a sunken triangular panel: though this appears as a hammered design, Dr Kevin Leahy kindly comments that it is cast. Iron fragment, probably from a knife, with a silver handle mount. The iron fragment appears to comprise part of the wedge-sectioned blade and sub-circular (?) sectioned tang, the broken stubs of which protrude from each end of a silver sleeve-like mount. An incomplete copper alloy strap junction or strap distributor of late medieval or post-medieval period c.AD 1400-1700. The object is quatrefoil, formed from four roughly circular loops, one of which is broken. The loop opposite the broken one is largest with an internal diameter of 10.mm. the other two loops are slightly smaller and roughly the same size with an internal diameter of 9.54mm. Abrasion marks at the outer edges of two of the loops suggest wear where reins or straps have rubbed. The break on the fourth loop shows a hollow in the metal and suggests an ancient break at a…
