An incomplete Roman cast copper-alloy bracelet dating c. AD 250-410. The bracelet consists of one terminal and part of the body. The strip is broadly rectangular and D-shape in cross-section. From the squared terminal the side of the strip gradually narrow to an old worn transverse break. Most of the strip is plain. The terminal is decorated with four transverse grooves of varying width and depth. The underside is relatively flat and undecorated. Incomplete early Roman copper alloy possibly Hod Hill Aucissa derivative brooch. 43-70 AD. The bow is intact but the catchplate and hinge pin are missing. The hinge for the pin was formed by the rolling of the head back onto itself with a vertical slot for the pin. The bow has a central ridge decorated with 2 bands down its length.
