Fragment of Roman flue tile, c.AD 43-410.
This is a fragment of a rectangular tile with flat faces, with broken edges and corners. The obverse is scored with regular lines to help mortar to adhere to the surface. The breaks around the edges mean that no corners survive that indicate whether this is a wall or floor tile.

A complete lead Spindle Whorl of Medieval date (AD 1100-1500). The object is biconical with a central moulded aperture of diameter 9.77mm. Both sides bear a moulded decoration. On one side this takes the form of a cross Pommée with lettering reading: W Crown V (pellet within) Crown V (pellet within and flanking). The opposing side is decorated with cross Pommée H•N•?•quatrefoil/A (chevron barred).

A complete Medieval cast copper alloy seal matrix, c.AD 1200-1300.
This is a possible merchant's seal. The matrix is circular in plan, with a flat obverse face and a central rib down the middle of the reverse face. The rib has an integral attachment loop.
The obverse face has a central design of an unusual symbol, possibly a merchant's mark. This symbol is similar to a heart that is missing the left lower side, with a crossed arrow emerging from the top centre of the heart-like symbol. The surrounding legend reads: S’ SOIER DE RVChE*

Fragment of a ceramic handle, the consensus from a post on the Medieval and Later Pottery Research Group Facebook group, is that this is likely to be Ham Green dating c1300-1500AD.
The fragment has a white body with a largely reduced greyish core. The fabric has a lot of sandy inclusions which are clearly visible with the naked eye. There is a distinct ridge down the centre of the fragment with combed decoration on either side. The exterior surfaces of the fragment have a thick, dark green glaze.

A Roman copper-alloy devolved T-shaped brooch of Hull T138 dating to the late first to second century AD, incomplete in so far as it is missing the pin and part of the headloop. The head has two short cylindrical wings, 33.9mm wide, to hold the axis bar for the hinged pin. Between the wings is a slot in which the pin would have sat. An incomplete copper-alloy crossbow brooch of Roman date, c.AD 200-300. The brooch has tubular crossbar wings with closed ends, although both ends are fragmented. The reverse of the wings have a central slot allowing a pin to be looped around the bar. The pin is missing, and the central knob which would have protruded upwards from the top of the axis bar is also fragmented and missing. A D-sectioned bow extends with a steep C-shaped curve before bending straight down forming a P-shaped profile.

An incomplete copper alloy Buckle of Medieval date (AD 1375-1425). The object is a lyre-shaped buckle, the retained portion consists of the rectangular socket, through which is a single central silver rivet. The face of the socket bears a black-letter inscription reading 'IHC'. Above the socket the section narrows and is marked by transverse moulding through one of which is hole which contains a 31.55mm long, pin, the shank of which has a tapering, round section with an expanded end where it is attached to the buckle.

An incomplete copper alloy late Anglo-Saxon strap end, dating circa AD 750-1100. The object is sub-lozenge in shape, tapering toward a point. The shape is similar to figures 1-10 in Thomas, 2003. The decoration on the front of the strap end is not clearly visible due to wear in the soil, making it difficult to identify further than Class A, Types 1-3 in Thomas (2003, FRG Datasheet 32). The object is has an uneven grey surface patina.

The seal is circular in plan and comprises two equal sized lead discs linked by a recurved rectangular tab. One face has a punched inscription reading I F. The other face has the punched initials O H.

Cast Post Medieval cast copper alloy dated knife cap, AD 1521.
This object is a discoidal end cap from a Post Medieval scale-tang knife with remains of the iron tang embedded in a socket. Both faces are decorated with the numbers 1521 between a pair of transverse grooves above and below. The numbers 1 have two diagonal lines striking through the numeral.
There are now a number of recorded examples, all with dates within the 1520s, see NMS-C01017. Caps dated 1521 include those from Suffolk (SF-639506), Dorset (LON-465B34) and Nottinghamshire (DENO-347DD1).

The plate is rectangular in plan and flat in cross section. At one end the plate narrows slightly and has an angled, pointed end with a break at its apex. The opposite edge slightly concave and is pierced by a single centrally placed hole. There is punched decoration across the obverse face, creating a simple double border. The plate is a medium brown colour but has traces of gold coating on both faces.

Two fragments of a Modern incomplete copper alloy badge awarded in World War Two, AD. 1939-1945.
Together, both fragments comprise approx. 60% of an oval-shaped badge made of embossed sheet brass. The obverse features a central helmet with embossed swastika atop crossed swords on a stipped background within a wreath with bow at the bottom. The reverse reveals the inverse of the embossed obverse design and the badge has lost its pin, spring mechanism and catch plate.

It is an asymmetrical buckle with a large D shaped loop and what appears to be the remaining projection of a further loop on the inner edge. The outer edge of the D shaped loop is decorated with an anthropomorphic moulding in relief. This moulding possibly represents a caricatured royal bust as the head seems to be crowned. The head is orientated vertically along the outer loop edge. No pin remains and no pin rest is visible.

An incomplete Roman-Medieval cast copper alloy and enamel mount, c.AD 43-1500.
This object is worn and corroded, which has damaged most of the details. The mount is made of a lozenge-shaped plate with knops at each point, slightly domed, with a circular-sectioned spur in the centre of the reverse face. Two patches of red enamel can be seen on two, opposite sides of the obverse face, although the original shape and extent of the enamel patches are unclear.
This mount is very similar to LANCUM-5914D5, a Roman mount with red, blue, and green enamel.

This pendant is shaped as a shield with an attachment loop flanked by four knops at the top, two knops along the side, and a single knop at the bottom of the shield. Although there were nine knops originally, one close to the base is missing.

An incomplete copper-alloy fragment of rowel spur of Post Medieval dating (c. AD 1600-1700). Less than 25% of the spur is present, consisting of a short part of one arm or heel band, a very short neck, rowel box and rowel.
The small section of broken arm or heel-band is lozenge form in cross-section with a raised ridge. The short neck has a hollow sub-rectangular aperture in the centre (c. 5.60mm x 3.15mm) with a bevelled collar. The remains of the rowel box contain the iron rowel consisting of broken spikes attached with an iron axial rod.

This object is the cap of a small bottle, which would have screwed into place. It is shaped like a crown with a central point that may have ended in a cross, but has since broken below the tip. The small and precise decoration was made as part of the casting mould, which suggests a later Post-Medieval date.

This item is made up of two octagonal elements, connected by a circular-sectioned oval loop of silver. Incomplete Post Medieval cast copper alloy possible mount, c.AD 1500-1700.
The obverse face of this object is edged by a square-shaped raised rim, within which is a raised flag-shape (which could also be a crown shape - it's unnclear how this mount is meant to be orientated). The reverse of this mount has a rectangular rusted imprint with the remains of three rivets placed in a straight line. This may be where a plate was attached that held this mount to a larger object.

Description: The brooch is annular in plan and D incross section. The frame is constricted to accommodate the missing copper alloy pin, where it would have wrapped around the frame. There is no corresponding pin rest. There are four equidistance collets (these stand approx.. 2.2mm higher than the ring) each has a small circular depression in the top, that probably held a glass stone. The brooch was gilded, this is now mostly worn away.

A complete copper-alloy Annular Brooch of Medieval date (AD 1200-1400). The object has circular frame, with a broad band with a flat rectangular cross-section. It has a very short and narrow recess to hold the pin. The pin has an upper double collar. The inscription is worn, it is possible that it is a pseudo-inscription/blundered and made to look like an inscription a common phenomenon during this period. The inscription is in roman style pseudo lettering in relief style lettering at the point at which the pin meets the body of the brooch. The visible inscription reads: |-x-| CEA???M…
