An early medieval copper alloy Anglo-Scandinavian stirrup, dating to c. AD 1000-1100. The stirrup is sub-triangular in plan and L-shaped in section.The front of the stirrup is decorated possibly with a single interlaced beast whose head is facing downwards to the left. The beast interlaces with lobe-ended tendrils. In each corner of the stirrup is a circular hole, the lower left of which is damaged and elongated.
