A complete copper-alloy Strap Fitting of Post-Medieval to Modern date (AD 1775- 1920). The object is an 'S'-shaped belt hook. The hook is in the form of a snake and would have hooked onto fitments at the end of the belt on a military uniform.
The snake's body is pointed-oval in cross-section and is similarly moulded on both sides to emulate scales. The head tapers to a narrowed snout and has a linear moulded jaw and ovate eye.
The metal is green/brown in colour with a slightly pitted patina.

Copper alloy Roman plate brooch, of zoomorphic design, depicting a prancing horse in profile, dating to around 2nd century AD. The front is highly decorative, with the mane and facial features engraved and the body area containing open areas of arabesques and curling designs that would have contained enamel. Only a trace of red remains of this.
