A zoomorphic post medieval to modern copper alloy snake-shaped strap fitting dating to the 19th to 20th century.  The cast strap fitting is S-shaped and sub oval is cross section being wider than it is thick.  Both sides of the sinuous fitting have a moulded decoration giving the impression of scales.  The reptilian head is decorated on one side only with a snout, oval eyes above and a slightly raised crest on top.  The strap fitting is dark brown with a light green patina and has been bent.  Similar to LIN-C66051. A cast, copper alloy, snake-shaped strap fitting with double headed zoomorphoric terminals, possibly goose heads, that curve back towards the centre.  The centre of the strap fitting is wider than the terminals and is decorated with a central band around the circumference holding feathers or wings.  Post medieval, 1600-1800AD.  Mid brown in colour with a green patina.  Similar to BERK 360764. The frame is sub-rectangular in form and section with a sub-rectangular bar and a zoomorphic end.The face comprises small nodular-shaped ears on the side bars, V-shaped brows above small v-shaped eyes. The nose extends from the tip of the brow with the nostrils flaring above the mouth on the outer edge. The reverse is recessed and undecorated. The strap plate is missing.
