Complete lead-alloy spindle whorl, dating from the medieval period (AD1300-1500). The whorl is made up of a central bi-conical body that is decorated on one face with a series of raised lines, radiating out from the central perforation on one side. On the other the lines terminate with a pellet. The perforation has an internal diameter of 9.5mm. The surface of the whorl is worn with a powdery white patina. Measurements: Diameter: 21.8mm; Thickness: 11.5mm; Internal diameter: 9.5mm; Weight: 18.08g.

A complete lead Spindle Whorl of late Medieval to early Post-Medieval date (AD 1500-1600). The object is biconical with a central sub-circular aperture of diameter 7.50mm. Both sides bear abraded, moulded decoration. Almost complete copper alloy mount of probable medieval date (c. 1200-1500). Broadly lozenge shaped with wavy edges, it has two rivet holes at each lateral end, only one of which is in tact. A cast lead alloy medieval decorated spindle whorl, c. AD 1100 to AD 1500.  The spindle whorl is circular and biconical in form, with a central hole 9.8mm diameter. Both sides are decorated with a series of four raised capital ‘A’s equally spaced around the whorl with the apex of the ‘A’ at the rim. There is then a series of three pellets between them. Both faces have the same design.   One side has more wear than the other and the surface has large areas of white lead oxide with grey lead sections. Diameter 27.5mm, height 14.7mm, weight 45.5g.
