An incomplete Medieval cast copper alloy bar mount, probably from a casket dating c. AD 1230-1450.
The mount is rectangular in cross section and broadly rectangular in plan with a worn old transverse break at one end. From this break the object is decorated in cast relief with three raised rectangular panels; the bar has a D-shaped cross-section between each panel. An incomplete copper-alloy Mount (strap Fitting) of Post-Medieval date (AD 1600-1700). The object is composed of a triangular plate with an integral moulded petter on the front of the plate consisting of repeating transverse ridges and grooves (10 of each alternating). . The back of the object retains one tapering attachment spike at the lower end of the plate, and a short length of an attachment spike at the top and is undecorated. with integral spikes dating c. 1600-c. 1700.

Complete Post Medieval - Modern cast copper alloy possible mount, c.AD 1700-1900.
This is a single cast piece of metal with stamped decoration. The head of this piece is trefoil in shape with two attachment holes, one in each side knop of the trefoil head. This leads to a rectangular plate and narrows further to a long tang. The tang is slightly concave in profile and ends in a rounded tip. The decoration on the mount is a geometric knot in style.

An incomplete Roman copper-alloy millefiori enamelled object probably a mount or stud of c. 2nd - 3rd century AD date.
Only the circular plate survives and the reverse is plain with no evidence for an attachment.The upper surface of the plate is cast with an outer raised flat topped rim, (1.41mm wide); and an inner raised flat topped border (1.35mm wide); together forming an annular recess 2.76mm wide. An almost complete Medieval copper alloy mount, in the form of a flat disc with a single integral bent spike.
Description: The mount/stud is formed from a flat copper alloy disc, with four equidistant round apertures forming the wide arms of the cross. There is a central ring and dot motif, with two rings and a central dot. At the centre of the reverse is a single integral rivet or spike. This bends, terminating at a blunted historic break. A post medieval cast copper alloy mount, circa AD 1500-1700. The fitting has a pointed oval or lozenge shape with a notch near one end.The outer surface is convex and has some green patina patches. There is some evidence of patterning around the edges.
The reverse is concave and has a central pin which projects 7.8mm beyond the mount.

A complete copper alloy Mount of Early Medieval date (AD 500-1050). The object is composed of a sub-triangular, flat sectioned plate, with a rounded upper lobe, from which a tapering projection is retained from one side. This projection forms the beak, while the rounded lobe forms the head of a bird, giving the object a zoomorphic form. Both sides of the plate are decorated with stamped ring and annulets, one within the rounded upper lobe, two within the lower corners of the object.

Almost complete copper alloy mount of probable medieval date (c. 1200-1500). Broadly lozenge shaped with wavy edges, it has two rivet holes at each lateral end, only one of which is in tact. On the obverse, this mount has an incised elongated cross patteé decoration, the reverse is flat and undecorated. It has a dark green patina and is in very good condition.
The cross design is reminiscent of St Cuthbert's Cross, a medieval cross associated with the cult of St Cuthbert and remains a popular Christian symbol in Northumberland the County Durham today.

This may be part of a heart-shaped decorative mount, although it is too small to be certain what the original shape was. This fragment has two arched lobes leading to a straight, old break. The object is circular in form with simple cast-in decoration in the shape of a cross. The edges are damaged, so the original shape and extent of the decoration is unclear. The reverse is undecorated with two rectangular cross-sectioned attachment prongs that are folded over.

A Post Medieval copper alloy probable decorative open work mount, dating to c AD 1600-1800. The specific purpose is uncertain (possibly a decorative faux shoe buckle). It is sub rectangular with nine openings (3 x 3) of slightly varying shapes creating a trellis or grid-like effect. The corners of the outer frame have rounded knops, one of which is partly missing. The central section of each of the sides of the frame is decorated with knops which create a scalloped edge there.Very slight traces of gilding are apparent.. There is no indication of attachment points.

A Medieval copper-alloy rectangular mount dating c. AD 1200-1400. The mount Is rectangular in shape and in cross-section with straight, though unevenly worn, sides and slightly rounded corners. Through the centre of the plate is a circular perforation (4.1mm diameter), with a smaller perforation either side (each 0.9mm diameter). The front face has etched decoration of a lozenge within a single groove rectangular boarder. The reverse of the plate is flat and undecorated.
The surface patina is mottled light and dark green and brown in colour.

An incomplete Medieval possible antler casket mount dating to c. AD 1100-1250. The flattened strip is rectangular in plan and broken at both ends, due to old breaks. It is decorated with three complete and one incomplete incised double-ring-and-dot motifs. Iron oxide staining on the rear may potentially derive from an iron fixing-pin, although no receiving piercing is evident in this section.

A sheet copper-alloy multifoil mount of Medieval date, c.AD 1300-1500.
This object is made of two components: a copper alloy disc with stamped decoration on the front face that is attached to a copper alloy band via a rivet. The stamped decoration consists of a central raised boss that has a small circular rivet hole, slightly off-centre, that is surrounded by two rings of raised dots.
It measures 24 mm in diameter, 20 mm in height (including the attached band), and weighs 4.26 g.

This object is broadly circular with an outer ring connecting the ends of an quatrefoil with openwork between each lobe arm. The lobes slight project out from the edge of the ring which itself is cusped. The lobes are D-shaped in cross-section. The entire mount is convex, forming a dome around the square peg/mount in the centre of the reverse face.
