Fragment of a dark blue glass melon bead of Roman date (50-200 AD). The bead has been broken, only this fragment survives; it is irregular in plan and cross section. Originally it would probably have been sub-oval shape in plan with a central hole. The central hole is ridged by vertical striations and has an internal diameter of 11.4mm. The outer edge of the bead has regular lentoid shaped ridges formed by regular grooves like depressions. An incomplete glass Bottle Seal of Post-Medieval date (AD 1700-1800). The seal depicts a stag or deer head facing left, with is diagonal linear "rope" below, this is enclosed within a beaded circle. There are breaks at the edges however the sub-circular form is retained. The glass is heavily patinated with a dark green patina in some places and a multi-coloured opalescent patina predominant on the reverse. A glass (vitrified) bead probably dating to the early early-medieval period (6th to 8th century AD). It is bi-conical with flattened ends. The glass is dark grey to brown and is decorated with six to seven off-white horizontal, combed, trailed and marvered lines circling it. An Iron Age-Roman glass bead, dating 800BC - AD100. This bead belongs to Guido's class 6, Oldbury type.It is made from blue and white glass and is roughly circular in shape, with a hole through the centre formed during manufacture with a mandrel. An opaque white bowed cylindrical glass bead with angular crossing trails forming multiple conjoined lozenge shapes, the trails are decorated with a pale blue glass infill, some of which is extant.
