Fragment of Early Saxon wrist clasp, worn surviving end with broad flattened bar, the inner part of which, adjacent to the break, has multiple transverse incised lines. Narrow inner rib with double row of tiny stamped dots, shaped rear edge with rounded perforated outer lug and most of another semi-circular projection before break. 14 x >19mm. Ancient breaks. Hines Form B20 (1993).

Early Saxon wrist clasp, comprising of a cast rectangular plate with a shaped rear edge with three semi-circular projections the outer two of which are perforated, narrow vertical rib with two groups of three transverse grooves flanking central group of four transverse lines. 13 x 28mm. There is a patch of corroded solder in the centre on the reverse where the hook or loop was attached, and traces of possible tinning or silvering. Hines (1993) Form B20. 6th century.

A complete copper alloy sheet Early Medieval Anglo Saxon sleeve clasp hook-piece, of Hine’s form B7. The rectangular plate has an integral rectangular hook element on the front edge. The front of the plate is decorated with a border of punched dots around the edge and four repoussè bosses in a vertical line near the hook element. At the rear edge is a vertical line of two sets of two circular holes with three incised ring and dots between the sets. The length is 30.5mm, the width is 19.3mm and the weight is 3.05g.

Stamped annulets follow the edges of the rear projections and link the two perforations. 30mm x 19mm. Cf. examples from grave 52, Westgarth Gardens, Bury St Edmunds (EAA 38, page 34, fig 77). Late 5th – early 6th century.

A cast copper alloy Anglo-Saxon wrist clasp. The clasp is basically rectangular in shape, with two cutaway corners from one long edge, which is the edge attaching to the clothing. This side has a line of four circular perforations ca 3mm in diameter for attachment. There are marks of wear in these where they were sewn to the clothing. Down the long centre line of the clasp are two parallel incised lines separating the attachment panel from the clasp panel.
