An incomplete copper-alloy pin of Middle Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) date. The head of the pin is polyhedral, taking the form of a cuboid with with truncated corners. Each surface is decorated by punched ring-and-dot motifs. The largest two faces have nine and ten marks respectively, the three lozenge-shaped faces around the perimeter each have four, while the angled corner faces each bear two. A cast copper alloy Early Medieval buckle dating probably to the 5th or 6th century. The frame is an elongated D-shape and is oval in section. The pin bar is circular in section and is narrower than the rest of the frame. The pin curves over the pin bar. Length 19.05mm, width 8.88mm and maximum thickness 2.93mm. Weight 1.7g. Similar examples can be found in Macgregor and Bolick 1993, A summary catalogue of the Anglo-Saxon collections (non ferrous metals), Ashmolean Museum Oxford, pages 193-207.

Head and bow from a copper-alloy small-long brooch. The head is square and has a border of deep but indistinct punchmarks around three edges, with the lowest edge next to the bow undecorated. The top and sides each have a tiny knob; the knobs are all identical, with half-round moulding decorated with a fine groove, then a broader groove, then a hemispherical terminal which may once have had a fine groove across its base. Complete small-long brooch in excellent condition. Made from copper alloy with no obvious trace of a surface coating, it has a rectangular headplate which is undecorated except for a small V-shaped bevelled nick in the centre of the top edge. A copper-alloy ear-scoop of early Early-medieval (Anglo-Saxon) date. No exact parallel could be found for this artefact although a similar scoop was found in a grave at Buckland, Dover (Evison 1987: 225/fig. 19), dated at c. 575-675. The style of the slip-knot ring (see below) is a typical feature of early Anglo-Saxon toilet articles. Early medieval gilded copper alloy mount, dating from 700-900 AD. The mount is rectangular at one end and tapers to a rounded end at the other. The decoration on the object consists of a symmetrical twisted strand within two concentric lines. The reverse of the object has a large patch of iron corrosion at the thicker end and a smaller lump of corrosion at the tapered end. These presumably represent rivets that would have secured the mount. Length: 30.44mm; width: 9.94mm; thickness: 1.82mm; weight: 3.54g.

Early medieval copper alloy hook fastener with two securing holes outlined with incised circles. The decoration on the back of the object consists of two dot and ring patterns, one of which pierces the object. Small horizontal incised lines surround the securing holes and the ring and dot pattern. The hook fastener is in good condition, including the hook which is complete. Length: 18.27mm, diameter: 10.95mm, thickness: 0.64mm, weight: 0.47g.

Incomplete early medieval copper-alloy cruciform brooch that is the foot end of an incomplete brooch already on the database (see CAM-DC8A21). This part of the brooch is broken off at the zenith of the bow. Beneath the bow are two fin-like lappets either side of the body, which is outlined with a small ring and dot pattern. The foot of the brooch ends in a zoomorphic terminal with two protuberant eyes in triangular grooves, a snout decorated with a double chevron and a trefoil shaped foot, representing flaring nostrils. Length: 66.51mm; width: 21.77mm; thickness: 3.37mm; weight; 16.58g.

Incomplete early medieval copper alloy Small-long brooch. The head end of the brooch is missing, broken at the zenith of the bow-arch. There are two small lappets either side of the body, just beneath the bow. Beneath these is zoomorphic terminal; a horizontal ridge above, two protuberant circular projections and a central ridge ending in a rounded foot. A fragment of a copper-alloy cruciform brooch dating to the sixth century AD. Only the short rectangular headplate survives, with a raised central panel which flares slightly towards the missing bow. There are two slightly lowered wings, a top knob and two side knobs. All of the knobs are semi-circular in cross-section and integrally cast with the headplate. Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch, the head and bow survive and the foot is missing due to an old break. It measures 47.40mm in surviving length, the head is rectangular in shape and measures 32.73mm in width and 27.74mm in height. The head has a raised rectangular central panel and a top knob, which is half round but due to corrosion it is impossible to tell whether it is integral or detachable in nature. Early Saxon pottery sherd. Lower wall below a carination to below a sagging basal angle. Reduced dark grey, sandy, some rounded voids on inner, less well smoothed, surface. Six roughly vertical rows of fingernail impressions are present on exterior. Of three complete rows two contain six impressions and one seven. Wall thickness diminishes from 7mm above the basal angle to only <3mm at the carination (weighing 65.7g).
