An early medieval copper alloy Northumbrian penny (styca), blundered and partly illegible but probably of Æthelred II (c.AD841-848?) or later blundered types dating to c.850s-870. Ref: Naismith 2017: 119-25.
The coin is badly chipped and there is some corrosion on the surface, together removing parts of the inscription.
Obverse description: central pellet surrounded by six smaller pellets, arc of pellets at edge.
