An incomplete copper alloy Early Medieval sleeve clasp dating from AD 450 - 570. It is probably of Hines form B, but the damaged rear edge means form B19 is also possible. Damage also means it is unclear whether it is a hook piece or a catch piece. The bar and plate are cast in one. The edges are all abraded. The bar is decorated with four wide transverse grooves. The find is sub rectangular with the outer edges of a narrowed and recessed split end having two semi circular projections, one above the other.
