A complete struck/hammered copper alloy jetton of Charles VI (1380-1422) or Charles VII (1422-1461), struck as one of the stock issues in Tournai between c.1415 and 1497 AD. The jetton consists of a Shield of France jetton, issued throughout the 15th Century. The jetton is badly struck. The obverse consists of a Shield of France bearing 3 complete Lys or Lis, with annulets to the top and side. The obverse inscription is unclear. Mitchiner (1988, 439-440). Approximately half remains after an old, ragged break. The jetton measures 21.22mm in diameter, 0.68mm in thickness and weighs 0.6g. The patina is pale green with remains of red soil.

See Mitchiner (1988, 440; no. 1528), for an example with an eight-petalled rose, though this jetton has a different, fuller obverse legend The jetton measures 21.06mm in diameter, 0.91mm in thickness and weighs 1.3g. It has suffered a loss at its circumference. The patina is pale green with remains of red soil.
