Medieval French copper alloy jetton of the shield of france ancien type, mis-struck with one blank side, shield of France ancien / blank. Similar obverse are illustrated in Mitchiner (1988:172), no. 433-434b who suggests they were issued under Charles VI (1380-1422) and dated to the early 1380's during the process of coinage and jetton reformation. The jetton has been folded and has split almost completely across on the fold. A copper alloy, post medieval Nuremberg jetton of the 'Ship Penny' type, dating from AD1490-1550. This is an example of the anonymous issue with fictitious legend. It is a little unusual in that the ship on the obverse is sailing to the right, unlike the majority of these jettons which have the ship sailing left. The jetton has been pierced with a circular hole at 7 o'clock on the obverse. It is 27.9mm in diameter and 0.7mm thick. It weighs 2.66gm. Reference: Mitchiner, 1988, Jettons, Medalets and Tokens, Volume 1, pages 365-376.

A very worn and corroded, pierced 16-/17th-century copper-alloy post-medieval jetton of uncertain issuer of an allegorical type, 'FORTVNA VARIABILIS' legend, probably struck in France under Charles IX (c. 1560 - c. 1574 AD). The coin has been pierced through the reverse presumably for reuse as a jewellery item. The piercing is at around 11 o'clock on the obverse, and around 1 o'clock on the reverse. The 'FORTVNA VARIABILIS' legend is found on jettons of Hans Krauwinckel II (1586-1635 AD) but the design is inverted compared to this piece. There is no obvious signature of Hans Krauw…

A complete hammered copper alloy sterling bust English jetton, AD 1310-14. The obverse is worn. The jetton mimics the silver penny of the period - Edward II, Class 11. The obverse shows a forward facing crowned bust with the conventional legend position occupied by a ring of pellets. The reverse has a solid long cross with six pellets in each quadrant with a ring of pellets around the outside edge of the flan. Similar examples are in Mitchener (1988:100) nos 118-120. Diameter: 20.21mm. Weight: 1.6g. Identified from photograph and notes. No further information available.
