A very worn Roman silver siliqua of the House of Valentinian (364-378 AD). Reece Period 19. VIRTVS ROMANORVM reverse type. Obverse depicts a diademed or laureate bust facing right. Neither legends are legible, nor is the mint or specific ruler known. The coin has been pierced with a circular hole, presumably for suspension, near the 11 o'clock position on the obverse. Cf. RIC IX.
