A slightly worn and corroded 2nd century Roman copper-alloy As or Dupondius of uncertain Antonine emperor (c. 138-180 AD, Reece period 7-8). Mint is Rome. Both legends are missing. It is unclear if the obverse depicts a bare or laureate head; the reverse probably depicts Mars, standing front facing left with cloak over left shoulder, holding spear left and possibly another attribute right. The obverse legend is illegible although it is possible to discern a female bust facing right, with the upswept hair characteristic of depictions of Faustina Senior.
