A fragment of a Medieval cast copper allow skillet handle. It is very slightly curved in profile, and appears to taper slightly when viewed in plan. The fragment is trapezoidal in section. One side has incised decoration of the ring-and-dot pattern, perhaps filled with a different metal alloy. The object is in fair condition; although the surface is covered entirely with a green patina and it is a small fragment of the handle, the decoration is clearly visible as is the shape. A complete silver groat of Henry VIII (AD 1509-1547), struck in London between AD 1532-1542. The coin appears to have an arrow on the reverse, but the obverse initial mark is hard to discern; this may be a mule as there are crosses / roses in the arms of the cross on the reverse, and mules were not uncommon for this period of issue. North 1797.

An incomplete copper alloy Early Medieval bow brooch, circa AD450-550. Identified by Helen Geake as a small-long brooch which is imitating a square-headed brooch, due to the lack of relief ornament. The lower bow, footplate and pin are missing and the surfaces of the object are abraded. The damage is not new. The head of the brooch is a sub-rectangular plate with rounded corners. An integrally cast rectangular lug is present on the centre reverse of the plate. The front surface of the brooch is not decorated although it is possible that the punched dot decoration often present on thi…

An incomplete cast copper alloy early-medieval saucer brooch. The brooch is in poor condition, possibly not of the best quality originally; the brooch is sub-circualr and retains only a small fragment of its flared rim; an anthropomorphic face maskdecorates the front of the brooch, depicting hairline, eyebrows and nose, open oval eyes and an open mouth. No evidence of gilding can be seen, and the reverse of the brooch retains only a trace of the catchplate. Although usually face masks are seen on button brooches, this example is too large to qualify and is therefore labelled a saucer …

This is a log rectangular strip with trefoil terminals, the main body has a line of four ring and dots all held within an incised linear border, with a triple incised line at the mid point.
