A medieval cast copper alloy padlock in a zoomorphic design. The object is incomplete but none of the breaks are new. The padlock is cast in the shape of a dog or horse with the head turned back on itself. The 2 rear legs are still present, the front legs are broken off. Greatest damage to the front and head of the animal with breaks present along the body. Recesses for a 3-pronged lock or key present to the rear of the animal.

An incomplete unidentified cast copper alloy object, of unknown date. It is flat and fairly even, with a longer stem that terminates in a curved 'T' shape. The bottom of the T is curved, and the sides terminate at a point, and are cocave as the edge goes back to the stem. It has been slightly bent. The condition is fair as it is broken and has some dark patina covering most of the surface, but the original metal can be seen through the patina. This item is 53.16 mm long, 22 mm wide (max), 2.12 mm thick and weighs 7.55 g.

Copper alloy sheet buckle plate length 20mm, width 27mm, thickness 1mm weight 2.52g. Rectangular plate with three rivet holes. Stamped ring decoration surrounds the holes, further stamped decoration consists of four lines of small triangle on the forwarded and rear edge and two lines on either side. The forward edge has two folded tabs that would hold the buckle, both are truncated. Iron corrosion in the centre of the tabs where the pin would have sat. Date 12th-15th century

Medieval copper alloy fob-seal matrix. It has a flat circular die and a six-sided handle tapering to a simple terminal with a circular piercing 2mm in diameter, presumably for suspension. The die has an image within a circle, surrounded by an inscription, the die presents a bird of prey seizing a duck/small bird, surrounded by the legend ALAS IE SV PRIS. The matrix is 21mm long, 20mm in diameter at the die and weighs 7.77g.

There are two rivet holes in opposing corners and on the reverse are two short rectangular tabs. The two opposing corners that do not contain rivet holes have been curved back on them selves, one of which has been truncated. date possibly 16th-17th century.

An incomplete copper alloy double looped buckle, both loops identical. Each is a wide short oval with the outside edge widened to a rectanglar shape, with tiny short grooves or notches cut into the edge. Corroded to mid/dark brown, pin is missing. Length 38.04mm, Width 32.81mm Thickness 1.96mm, Weight 8.47g. Compare NMS-B2F4CE. A similar example was found unstratified at Winchester (Biddle 1990, no. 1261) and dated on stylistic grounds to the post-medieval period. Whitehead 2003, 63, no 381 also has similarities and is dated by Whitehead to c. 1550-1650.

A fragment of a Late Bronze Age socketed axe, dating from c.1000-800 BC. The axe fragment consists of only the cutting edge, which is slightly rounded and has flared outer edges; these then taper inward and would have continued into the length of the axe head, but is now broken. A small section of the socket survives behind the cutting edge.

Part of a cast copper alloy, Anglo Saxon, cruciform or small-long brooch dating from AD400-600. It consists of the bow and that part of the foot holding the catch plate. Both the upper and lower portions of the brooch have broken away in antiquity and are missing. Above the bow are two narrow, transverse grooves beneath a shallow semicircle of four inverted crescents. The bow itself is decorated with three lateral grooves running down the centre, bordered by punched crescents. The object seems almost complete with a rip or break towards the left, opposite the fish-tailed terminal. The underside or reverse is plain and rough to the touch while the obverse is smooth and decorated with a crescent-shaped punch mark. There are also two perforation (possibly rivet holes) of unknown function.

Copper alloy double looped buckle 45mm long, 29mm wide, 4mm thick, weight 6.48g. Sub-oval frames, the strap bar is narrowed with a moulded acorn at either end. The forward edge of the frame is expanded with a moulded acorn in the centre. Copper alloy pin is still in place, there are also remains of the leather wrapped around the strap bar. Date 1550-1650.
