A Medieval to Modern circular double-sided lead token (c. 1250-c. 1850 AD). It has a raised saltire cross within a rim on both sides. Diameter: 18.68mm. Weight: 4.12g. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally. They are therefore hard to date precisely and could be Medieval to Modern in date (1250-1850 AD).

A complete cast lead alloy unifaced token of probable post medieval dating (1600 to 1800 AD). The token is broadly circular in plan. The upper face (obverse) exhibits a raised Cross, with pellets between each ray. The lower face (reverse) is plain. The token is a mid grey colour, with an even surface patina. It demonstrates a small degree of abrasion, caused by movement whilst within in the plough soil. A couple of small notches have been removed from the edge, probably by a plough. The token measures 16.4mm in diameter and is 3.7mm thick. It weighs 4.0 grams.

Reverse shows: E.W. and a small flower or cluster of four pellets below. Legend reads [CAMBRIDG.CARYER]. Die axis is probably 12 o'clock, weight is 0.65g, diameter is 15.73mm and thickness is 0.70mm.
