A complete Medieval to Post Medieval unifaced cast lead token. Powell Type 3. The token is decorated on one face with eight segments and a pellet in each angle; the other surface is undecorated. The decorated face also has a thick rolled circumferential edge. It measures 19.60 mm in diameter and 2.87 mm thick and weighs 4.18 grams. Its condition is complete and it is encrusted with a corrosion product. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were often produced locally; they are therefore difficult to date precisely. A complete post-Medieval to Modern cast lead or lead alloy circular double-sided token (c. 1500-c. 1850 AD). The token has a raised design on both faces: T C on one side with a tree between and a four legged animal on the other side. The animal is facing right and its tail is raised and curved over its body; pellet above and below. Diameter: 19.59mm. Weight: 2.83g. DA=12:12. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally, they are therefore hard to date precisely but those with initials are thought to date c.1500-1850 AD.

A moulded or cast lead alloy token, or tally, possibly for gaming. The token is bifacial; one side depicts what may be a crude representation of a stag's head, surrounded by a border of short radiating lines, which in turn is surrounded by an outer border of inward pointing triangles. The reverse has a small raised central pellet which is surrounded by groups of alternating radiating lines, reminiscent of windmill sails or wheel spokes, set at opposing angles.
