An extremely worn copper alloy Post Medieval traders token of James Snelling of Guildford. According to Williamson (Vol II, p1132), 'He was evidently a well-known and respected man, as he served his town as "an approved man" no less than ten times' ranging from 1665-1674; it is suggested that this token dates from this period. It measures 14.12mm diameter, 0.6mm thick and weighs 0.47 grams. Obverse: IAMES.SNELLING = Woolsack Reverse: IN.GVILFORDE = A castle Cf. Williamson Vol II, p1132, No. 124; also Plate, p1155, No. 13.
