A copper-alloy mount of post-Medieval (probably 17th century) date. The central portion of the convex-surfaced mount is trapezoidal. Surmounting this is a parallel-sided, vertical projection which terminates in a rounded top. A similar, albeit much shorter, projection is located at the base of the trapezoidal portion. To the reverse of the mount have been added two copper-alloy rivets, both of which have been deliberately bent upwards in order to secure the piece. The mount has a an oval lobe at the centre, the convex upper surface of which is decorated with a band of five parallel, transverse grooves, the ridges between incised to create a ropework effect. At the top, a waisted collar separates the body from an oval lobe with a pointed projection above. At the bottom, there is a forward-facing hook. The reverse is flat, with two integral rivets. A copper-alloy mount of Medieval date. The corroded mount takes the form of a three dimensional representation of an eagle-like bird, shown as if in flight, the head, wings and tail forming a cross. A stamped copper-alloy mount of Medieval date. The mount is in the form of an octofoil, with eight equal-sized, domed, sub-circular petals around a central dome. A single copper-alloy rivet survives in situ, adjacent to the damaged centre. Dimensions: 14.8mm diameter, 3.3mm high. Weight: 0.68g. Similar mounts were found in excavations in London, in contexts dating from the late 13th to mid 15th centuries (see Egan and Pritchard 1991: 194-195).

A copper-alloy mount of Roman date. The largest element of the openwork mount takes the form of a deeply moulded, three-tiered crescent with a convex surface and inward-curving points. A post-Medieval (probably 17th century) copper-alloy mount. The central portion of the plate-like mount is trapezoidal. At the top is a pointed-oval projection with a protruding collar at its base; at the bottom of the mount, there is an oval projection. There are two integral rivets on the reverse of the mount, both of which have been deliberately bent vertically outwards. Only the upper rivet survives intact. The long sides of the mount converge towards the bottom, where there is a wider collar with incised transverse groove. Each of the two ends takes the form of a circular lobe, perforated by a rivet hole. The object measures 38.75mm long, up to 11.17mm wide (centre), 3.45mm thick and weighs 3.65g. Bar mounts of this form were found in excavations in London, the majority in late 13th to mid 14th century contexts (Egan and Pritchard 1991: 213-214/fig. 134, cf. nos. 1154, 1157 and 1158).

A copper-alloy mount of probable Medieval date. The sheet metal mount is sub-circular and has a conical portion, located just off-centre, and pierced at its point. Traces of a white-metal solder on the underside of the rim suggest that the mount was probably attached to a metal object. The surfaces are heavily corroded. It measures 22.5mm in diameter, 6.1mm high and weighs 1.6g. Stamped sheet metal mounts are a common product of the Late Medieval period (see Egan and Pritchard 1991: 178-179/fig. 114 for examples excavated in London).
