Cast copper alloy gilded oval brooch dating to the late Roman period, i.e. the 3rd and 4th centuries AD. The object is oval in plan and both obverse and reverse are extremely worn. On the reverse, none of the spring or hinge housing, pin or pin rest survive, while, on the obverse, almost none of the enamel, glass setting or goldwork remain. The brooch was composed of one central raised glass intaglio or a glass or gemstone which is surrounded by two moulded ovals with punch-decorated gold inlay on the raised ridges. An incomplete late Iron Age to early Roman brooch of Langton Down type, c. 1st century AD. The head, crossbar, bow and fragment of catchplate are present. An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman Developed T-Shaped Brooch, dated to c. 65-160 AD. The crossbar, head, head lug and part of the brooch body are present. Although the spring is missing, a small corroded fragment remaining at the end of one of the crossbar arms indicates that the spring was probably composed of iron. The spring hood appears to have curved around the spring in a half-cylindrical manner and a portion of the lug on top of the head suggests that a portion of the spring chord passed through it. It has a strongly arched hollow bow; the sides of which are flat and the upper portion of which consists of two angled, flat facets that meet in a slight ridge at the top. An incomplete copper alloy Early Medieval bow brooch, circa AD450-550. Identified by Helen Geake as a small-long brooch which is imitating a square-headed brooch, due to the lack of relief ornament. The lower bow, footplate and pin are missing and the surfaces of the object are abraded. The damage is not new. The head of the brooch is a sub-rectangular plate with rounded corners. The brooch is in poor condition, possibly not of the best quality originally; the brooch is sub-circualr and retains only a small fragment of its flared rim; an anthropomorphic face maskdecorates the front of the brooch, depicting hairline, eyebrows and nose, open oval eyes and an open mouth. It has an openwork body of a scrolled S shape and one solid S shaped terminal, the other terminal, having broken off in antiquity, is now missing. A cast copper alloy Roman dolphin style brooch, dating to the first century AD. The brooch is almost complete, missing only its pin. The bow is decorated with raised vertical ribs that run down the centre of the spine; the wings enclose the spring and are decorated with a single incised line at either end. The bow is slightly twisted towards the foot where the catch plate is retained intact. This brooch is similar to those illustrated in Hattatt (2000) nos 882 and 817.

A copper alloy Roman brooch; a trumpet brooch dating from 75 - 175 AD, of which only the lower bow survives. The acanthus button is on the front only, and has three petals at the top and three at the bottom. Below is a triple collar. The lower bow is decorated with two vertical recessed panels, with a raised chevron at the top of each, both pointing inwards forming a cross (X) at the top of the decorated area. The foot is missing but part of the catchplate survives. The breaks are worn and patinated. The whole brooch has a dark green patina.
