A late medieval silver 'fede' ring, Treasure reference number 2012 T302. The bezel is decorated with clasped hands. The hoop bears a clear inscription but does not appear to make sense. The inscription reads: +ARDOVDOMISb. The inscription might be a blunder of something containing the word DOMI or DOMIS. The hoop is D-shaped in cross-section and circular in plan, with an internal diameter of 18mm. The surface has been gilded.

Roman cast silver Guiraud type 2d finger ring length 14mm, width 15.5mm (at bezel), height 15.5mm, thickness (at bezel) 3mm, weight 3.37g. The ring has a D-shape section which tapers in from the oval bezel to the hoop. An oval recess in the centre of the bezel would have held a stone or intaglio (now missing). The ring has been truncated to one the side of the bezel and the base of one shoulder, resulting in the loss of the hoop and most of the bezel.

Description: An incomplete silver-gilt finger ring of medieval date. The finger ring consists of a slender hoop, roughly half of which has been lost to old breaks, which widens into a double bezel. The shoulders to either side of the bezel are decorated with worn moulded elements which probably represent animal heads. The bezel splits into two from the shoulders expanding into shallow conical settings which would most probably have contained glass or enamel. Patches of irregular gilding remain upon the surface of the finger ring. Date: 14th Century. Dimensions: Length: 18.2mm; W…

TREASURE ITEM 2012 T266: A medieval finger-ring consisting of a simple band with incised decoration along part of the band. The decoration resembles a hand, which suggests that this was a "fede" ring. Such rings, of which there are many examples, normally display two clasped hands signifying fidelity. The ring is silver and dates from the fifteenth or sixteenth century. Dimensions: diameter 24 mm, height 5 mm. J P Robinson Curator of Medieval Collections (British Museum) 9th August 2012

A silver Medieval "fede" type finger ring which is inscribed on the outside of the hoop. The inscription is difficult to read because of damage, but appears to read: "C' IL (M)RONE(WH)•IALEALA". The bezel is in the form of clasped hands but has been twisted and bent inwards and the hoop is broken. The rest of the hoop is rectangular in section and fairly crude. Lovers' 'Fede' type rings are well known and a number of complete and fragmentary examples have been recorded under the Treasure Act (eg 2007 T49; 2007 T107; 2007 T342; and 2010 T158).Co…

A white metal ring in the shape of a coiled snake. The metal may be silver and the style of decoration is similar to that found on early medieval artefacts. However, there is a small oval disc on the ring which is a problem and it is possible that this item may be modern.

The hoop has a thick rectangular cross section, the outer face having three raised ribs; two raised horizontal ribs separate the hoop from the shoulders. A fragment of Roman silver finger ring which has been broken at the shoulders leaving only a short section of the hoop on each side of the bezel. A late medieval or early post- medieval finger- ring, consisting of a flat hoop cast with the form of two clasped hands (a "fede" or friendship ring).
