Object type: CASTING WASTE
Broad period: UNKNOWN
County: Oxfordshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A rectangular, or bar-shaped piece of silver casting waste. One end of the bar has been flattened although the purpose for this is unclear. There are markings on one side of the bar that look like a row of zig-zags, but this may just be a result of the casting process. Although made of silver, the artefact is undiagnostic and cannot be securely dated to pre-1712 AD. Therefore it does not fulfill the criteria of the Treasure Act 1996.
