Barry Ager of the British Museum writes: The find consists of a ring of twisted silver wires. The inner and outer surfaces have been intentionally flattened. It is undiagnostic and undatable, although probably of no great age, so does not qualify as Treasure under the stipulated criteria of the Treasure Act.

Roman silver finger ring, 23mm in diameter and 16mm wide. The object is in poor condition with several cracks and looks repaired. It is also incomplete and weighs 8.64grams. The ring has a wide and thick bezel with a central raised oval platform in its centre. This is inscribed with a small 'o' flanked by two straight vertical lines. On each side of this platform is a small oval indentation which contains stamped decoration in the form of two (three) stamped circles. A Romano-British silver finger ring dating to the third century AD (Treasure reference no. 2012 T78). The ring has broad carinated shoulders and a raised sub-rectangular bezel which is too worn to determine if it was originally decorated. The shoulders have two converging incised facets. Each facet is leaf-shaped and decorated with incised chevrons. Internal diameter: 13mm x 16mm. The finger ring is similar to one found at West Wickham, Kent (TAR 2002, treasure reference number 2002 T58).

Treasure Item 2012 T107: Complete silver Roman finger ring, Henig Type XI, dating to the 2nd - 3rd century AD. The ring is roughly D-shaped with a broad flat bezel and sub-circular hoop. A fragment of Roman silver finger ring which has been broken at the shoulders leaving only a short section of the hoop on each side of the bezel. The hoop is D shaped in section with a slightly convex front and flat inner side. It widens evenly at the shoulders into a wide, flat bezel with a raised oval setting to hold a gem, now missing. The setting is 10.53mm x 8.3mm externally, 8.56mm by 6.11mm internally. Not enough of the ring survives to be able to say what shape the hoop was. A zooamorphic terminal from a Roman silver Finger Ring or Bracelet. The terminal is oval in plan with a curved, convex cross section. It is moulded in the shape a stylised snake head with elongated pellets suggesting eyes, nose and the top of the head. The terminal has broken away from the rest of the object by an old break. Roman cast silver Guiraud type 2d finger ring length 14mm, width 15.5mm (at bezel), height 15.5mm, thickness (at bezel) 3mm, weight 3.37g. The ring has a D-shape section which tapers in from the oval bezel to the hoop. An oval recess in the centre of the bezel would have held a stone or intaglio (now missing). The ring has been truncated to one the side of the bezel and the base of one shoulder, resulting in the loss of the hoop and most of the bezel.
