A post medieval silver half penny of Charles 1st. A rose is depicted on both the obverse and reverse. No legend. Two small holes have been punctured very probably for the coin to be used as a necklace.
As a general rule, pierced coins post dating AD 1180 are not considered to be classified as potential Treasure under the Treasure Act 1996, as they remained in circulation post piercing.

It has also has been pierced from the reverse side at about 10/11 o'clock equating to 11 o'clock on obverse, possibly for suspension as a jewellery item.

In addition to severe wear on the surface of the coin, it has torn on the outer edges in multiple places and has been rippled, probably due to soil compression.
