An extremely worn struck Post Medieval silver Shilling of Charles I (1625-49 AD). Tower mint, probably under Parliament, 1642-8. In addition to severe wear on the surface of the coin, it has torn on the outer edges in multiple places and has been rippled, probably due to soil compression. A silver Post Medieval coin; a shilling of Charles I (1625 - 1649), Group F, triangle in circle initial mark (1641 - 1643). See North number 2231. The coin appears to have moved during the striking as there are two Gs in "D G" on the obverse, and the inner lines do not meet to form circles. The rest of the coin however, does not appear to be double struck.
