A post-medieval silver cufflink element. The design on the face consists of two hearts under a crown with a stippled background and plain broder. The disc has downward turned edges. The heart on the left of the face has a slightly irregular shaped left bust as the right heart encroaches/ overlaps the left heart. The reverse has an integral loop in the centre. Modern silver cuff link element or button. It is in the form of a flower formed of a central circular recess, surrounded by eight smaller ciruclar recesses of which only five survive. Each of the outer recesses are surrouned by a narrow ropework border. The recesses are likely to have contained glass, gem or paste settings. The reverse has two incomplete projections which would have formed an attachment loop. It is 15.68mm in diameter, 2.29mm thick and weighs 0.5 grams. A set of Post Medieval silver cufflinks. Formed of two hexagonal disc with an incised flower design, both of which have a central wire attachment loop at the reverse. One of the elements is flat, while the other has walls 1.2mm deep. The cuff link elements are connected by a wire oval link which fits through the reverse loops. Each element is 10mm in diameter. A post-Medieval silver cufflink. A circular-sectioned, sub-rectangular wire link joins the two head together. These heads are of equal form, being circular, with flat upper surfaces, angled sides and a wire loop at the centre of their flat undersides. Each head measures 12.6mm in diameter. Overall, the object is 24.7mm long, 5mm thick and weighs 2.26g. Raised decoration at the front consists of a flaming heart pierced by two arrows with three drops of blood below. A Post-medieval silver cufflink consisting of two discs (each 13.3mm in diameter) with downturned edges, joined by an ovoid wire link engaged with a loop soldered to the reverse of each. The front of both discs is decorated in counter-relief with a heart surmounted by a flame and transfixed by a pair of crossed arrows. This device is commonly found on 17th-century cufflinks (S. Thornton in Treasure Annual Report 2005/6, 139 no.615). Cufflinks began to become popular in c.1675. The cuff link is 17.6mm long and weighs1.60 grams.

Post Medieval silver cufflink element. Formed of a octagonal disc with an incised flower design formed of four large petals, with a smaller petals, or leaves, in the angles. The design is very worn. There are incised curved lines which border the edge of the disc. The reverse has a silver wire forming an oval attachment loop. The solder is clearly visible on the reverse. This object is less than 300 years old and so does not qualify as treasure under the 1996 Treasure Act.

Solid cast silver sleeve button or cufflink, comprising two discs held by the central shank, the uppermost disc stamped with two hearts beneath a single crown. The hearts are on a speckled background and just touch each other. The crowned hearts are a device associated with the marriage of Charles II and Catherine of Braganza in 1662. A similar button was found in Virginia, USA in the 1960s and published in Noel Hume 1969, fig.22. This object was found in February 2001 and has been acquired by the British Museum, acquisition number: 2002,0711.1

Silver Cufflink or Button front. Cast concavo-convex lentoid stud with a pair of scars from attachment to a loop or chain (now lost) on the back. A hand drawn incised design on the front comprises a looped strap with buckle pin holes along it, fastened by a large oval buckle. Shading is added by vertical and diagonal strokes, as is a border of angled sprays. This object is decorated, in a craft tradition rather than an industrial setting. Suggested date: Post-Medieval to Modern, 1750-1850. Length: 17.1mm, Width: 12.9mm, Thickness: 0.5mm, Weight: 0.85gms.
