12 silver hammered pennies. The report by Dr. Barrie Cook is as follows: "...a group of 12 coins reported found in the South Northamptonshire area. Eleven are official silver coins of the kings of England, Edward I, II and III, including a penny from the anomalous issues of Berwick upon Tweed. The four pennies will be over 90% fine metal. Seven of the English coins are halfpennies of Edward III's Second Coinage (1335-44), which was struck to a less fine standard, but are still 83% silver. The remaining coin is a continental sterling from Flanders, also struck at over 90% fineness. …

cast silver object, possibly a dagger/ knife guard. The object is sub rectangular in form with a foliate scrolling at both ends. On either side of the long sides is a rectangular design creating decorative indentations. A medieval finger-ring, broken along the transverse section and much distorted. The ring is roughly triangular in section creating two registers on the outer surface. The upper register is engraved with the words +IESVS....RENVS The lower register contains the words +REX..VDEORVM Some letters are missing due to the much-abraded surface. This Latin inscription would translate as: Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews The phrase was used to taunt Christ at the Crucifixion. It was invoked as a remedy for fever in the Middle Ages. An incomplete silver mount in the shape of two hearts arranged as a mirror image, with the bottom point facing outwards. One pint is missing while the other is worn. The hearts are defined using etched zig-zag lines, a practise commonly referred to as wriggle-work and used frequently on pewter during the 17th Century. Both rivets remain in place, although one is broken, while the other is bent. Both are square in section. A complete 17th century silver bodkin, or headdress pin. The terminal is circular and concave, functioning as an ear scoop. This is followed by a narrow waist, then a circular perforated segment. A transverse rib seperates these circular sections from the main body of the bodkin. An elongated rectangular aperture (9.5mm long) begins 10mm rom the transverse rib. This aperture is bordered by two sets of horizontal etched lines. Two more horizontal lines occur 5mm later, and the subsequent rectangular panel is decorated with an etched cross-hatched pattern.
