An incomplete silver mount in the shape of two hearts arranged as a mirror image, with the bottom point facing outwards. One pint is missing while the other is worn. The hearts are defined using etched zig-zag lines, a practise commonly referred to as wriggle-work and used frequently on pewter during the 17th Century. Both rivets remain in place, although one is broken, while the other is bent. Both are square in section. Mounts of this style are probably casket mounts, rather than designed for personal adornment, and date from the Late 16th to 17th centuries AD. The mount is 21mm …
